We continue to enjoy the feast of summertime fishing with great catches of Dolphin. Whilst Marlin season fades, they have yet to give up in our waters. The Dolphin certainly haven’t disappeared and the Yellowfin Tuna are dutifully on time. We’ll graciously allow the transition and capitalize on the fresh meat as we consider the Thanksgiving feast. What will you be serving? The “gobble gobble” just got more exciting!!
Current Pelican Fishing Report
The Tidwell crew had a fantastic day with a nice catch of Dolphin and an estimated 400 lb Blue Marlin release!! Way to go guys!!
John Bailey had a great day yesterday! Imagine spending the first hour and a half of your morning with White Marlin bills cutting through your spread! John released five White Marlin and none escaped. Superb teamwork! For a little icing on the cake, John landed Wahoo and Dolphin too. Beautiful weather and we expect this trend to continue this week. What more could a true fisherman ask for! Congratulations John!
The Marlin fishing started out great after Hurricane Dorian. John Bailey released two White Marlin, three Sailfish and a Blue Marlin during his two day post hurricane charter trip. We’re back in action and the fleet is seeing good numbers of billfish.
Three days of fun Marlin fishing for a group of friends that come together annually. Brian, Dave, Scott, Bob and Rob released a Sailfish, three White Marlin and six Blue Marlin! Congratulations guys!
Congratulations to the Nacey crew yesterday! A beautiful and and action packed day on the water! The Nacey crew released a White Marlin and a Blue Marlin but the fun didn’t end before landing a nice catch of Dolphin and Tuna that surely made for a celebratory dinner! Excellent work guys!
Yesterday we had a wonderful day with the Short family! Dolphin and Tuna for the box and two incredible young anglers releasing their first White Marlin! This is what it’s all about!!
Marlin fishing can be some of the most exciting fishing one can participate in. Monday while targeting billfish, Larry Fischer and his crew landed a couple of Dolphin and a Tuna and released a Sailfish! Little did they know the BIG ONE was waiting for them at the very end of the day!! Just as they were getting prepared to call it a day Arch and Lee noticed a billfish sniffing the teasers. Before they could blink an estimated 400 lb Blue Marlin was in the spread and GAME ON!! The Fischer’s fought hard and did fantastic angling to end the day with a lifetime Blue Marlin release! Congratulations Pelican and Fischer crew! Memorable for sure!
You can’t help but hear the pure joy and excitement in the text I received. I couldn’t have said it better myself
“Summer, Just got off the boat…Jon Bolling III landed a nice Sailfish on his 1st offshore trip at the age of nine…we went 3 for 3 on them this afternoon and his grandad was happy with the Wahoo we caught in the morning…as he says, best eating fish in the ocean.”
All it takes is a family like the Bolling’s to show us the importance of taking kids fishing! Three generations together sharing such memorable moments on the Pelican and we get the pleasure of hosting this fine family.
A wonderful day!
WHAT A TOURNAMENT!! Yesterday Team Pelican had a fantastic last day of fishing releasing five Sailfish and a White Marlin! Congratulations to our anglers for an incredible tournament! Great work from an excellent team of anglers!
